Luke Antony Walter behind bars after being found hiding stolen firearms in local bushland

A Gnarabup man has been put behind bars for 14 months after he was found possessing a multiple prohibited weapons, including a stolen firearm.

Luke Antony Walter, 36, appeared in Busselton Magistrate’s Court on July 26 where he pleaded guilty to a string of charges relating to a hidden stash of prohibited weapons he was found hiding in local bushland.

On March 5, Walter was seen running into bushland near the intersection of Bussell Highway and Mill Road and hiding.

When approached by police, Walker was found in possession of knuckle dusters and modified silencer for a firearm.

After searching the nearby area authorities also discovered a rifle and ammunition which was later found to be stolen property.

During the proceeding, police prosecution urged the man to be put behind behind bars saying he poses a “risk” to the community.
