Program sets its sights on our future leaders

The South West's brightest young leaders will get a chance to fine-tune their skills later this year when they participate in the 2015 South West Young Achievers Program.
Organised by the Bunbury Chamber of Commerce and Industries and the Rotary Club of Bunbury Leschenault, the workshop is for people aged between 18 and 25 years who have the potential to be future business and community leaders.
The program runs from Thursday, March 5, until Saturday, March 7, where young leaders from around the South West will attend a Gala Dinner at the Lighthouse Beach Resort.
Program coordinator Leanne O'Shea said she was looking for about 20 to 25 participants.
"The participants get a chance to experience personal and professional development," she said.
"It's really about challenging themselves to consider what role they can play in the future.
"We also have a few past participants volunteering to help this year as well."
The South West Development Commission is sponsoring the project.
SWDC chief executive officer Don Punch said the region's greatest asset is its leadership.
"If we can work with young people and bring them forward then we are doing our job," he said.
Anyone looking to participate in this year's program can obtain an application package from the Bunbury Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Applications close on Monday, February 9.
