Retirement village roof catches fire

A fire at the Leschenault Retirement Village in East Bunbury caused extensive damage to the common roof this afternoon.

Two people were evacuated.

Resident Neil Honnor said he called emergency services when he saw smoke from his garden.

“It was getting out of control,” he said.

Nobody was injured.
