South West favourites Treendale Farm Hotel and Last Slice Sports Bar among winners at State hospitality awards

Two of the South West’s favourite eateries continue to be the talk of the town, cleaning up accolades on a Statewide scale. Both Treendale Farm Hotel and Bunbury’s Last Slice Sports Bar had a successful run at the 2022 AHA-Aon Hospitality Awards for Excellence last week, named as some of the top restaurants in Western Australia. The Australind pub had a triumphant evening, taking home three awards, including best regional hospitality venue. The venue was also awarded best retail bottle shop for its adjoining facility Treendale Cellarbrations, as well as the family dining award, all three of which it won last year. The facility took to Facebook to share their excitement, calling it “another huge year of recognition”. Treendale Farm Hotel manager Addy Ribeiro said it was exciting to go back-to-back at the awards, especially for a regional venue. “It proves that a lot of venues in the regional area are investing in developing and creating an all rounded better customer experience,” he said. “We have amazing support from our community, and it helps us to keep pushing, knowing that our community is always supporting us, but also people from Perth, driving down south, stop by and the feedback is always super positive.” Last Slice remained true to its name, earning the prize for best sporting entertainment venue — beating it’s Treendale rival which was also a finalist in the category. Australian Hospitality Awards WA chief executive Bradley Woods said the awards provided an opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary hospitality offering found across Perth and regional WA. “This is the first time in three years we can celebrate WA’s hospitality venues and their dedicated staff, with the pandemic firmly in the rear-view mirror,” Mr Woods said. “WA is now open to the world and presenting a world class offering to prospective visitors and locals alike ... the awards provided an opportunity to commend those who constantly pursue hospitality excellence.” Other major prize winners included The Beaufort as Perth’s Best Hospitality Venue and ALH Group for the Group Venue Operator Award.
