Two good Samaritans have called for donations to help support bushfire victims in Perth.

It comes after a devastating loss of 86 homes in the Perth Hills last week.

Fundraiser organisers Julie Clarke and Amanda James put a call out on Facebook and email for toiletries, non-perishables, clothing and pet supplies that could provide direct help to feed and assist families and friends who have lost everything.

The two women said they both knew people impacted by the fires and wanted do what they could to help.

“We put a post on Facebook and sent out an email and we both couldn’t believe the response,” they said.

“It was so overwhelming to see the community come together like this for people in need, especially during another COVID lockdown.”

All donations including cash will be given to the CWA of WA Distress Relief Fund to be distributed to those affected by the fires.

Ms Clarke and Ms James said they had been liaising closely with the CWA of WA chief executive Jackie Farmer.

“Jackie has been great and very helpful so we can be sure what we receive and give is what people need,” Ms Clarke said.

The donated items will be collected and delivered by a courier this week.
