Australian Roots musician Xavier Rudd to play at BREC in 2022 Jan Juc Moon Tour

One of Australia’s favourite bare-footed roots musicians is set to visit Bunbury as part of a national tour celebrating his latest album. Xavier Rudd’s 10th album - An ode to Mother Earth and the great expansive places ahead of us - has just been released and he will perform at the Jan Juc Moon tour and Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre later this year. Rudd says his new album reflects a recurring image of wide-open spaces, mother earth’s natural elements that welcome and defy us, what he explains is a force greater than us, “but ours to harness if we take the time to learn reflect and respect” it. Rudd said the inspiration for the album came from his exploration through wide open spaces through COVID-19, a professional and personal break in his career to explore himself and the planet. “It hit me last year when I started to write Stoney Creek,” Rudd said about the album’s first heart-drumming single. “We were on a trip north to the Cape and the wind was blowing too hard to take the tinnie out to the island. “As I contemplated everything in my life and what was happening in the world there was literally a strong southeaster blowing, all the time. “It felt like a wind of change, literally, in so many ways.” On his tour Rudd will visit every state. In WA he will play in Bunbury, Perth, Geraldton, Carnarvon and Karratha. Rudd said he was looking forward to jumping back into touring and celebrating the release of his new album, including bringing it to regional stages. “Im very excited to get out on the road and share this new record and live show that I’ve been working on,” he said. “Australia first and then back out in the big wide world, the world needs music and I’m ready to share.” Rudd will perform on his 2022 Jan Juc Moon Tour at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on July 19.
