BDCA 2022/23: Donnybrook, Marist to battle to bounce back from round six losses

After being left reeling when their undefeated streak was broken at the hands of Leschenault, Donnybrook will be looking to bounce back in a big way against Marist this weekend. Donnybrook will be travelling to Forrest Park on Saturday when they go head-to-head with Marist during the seventh round of the Bunbury & Districts Cricket Association’s 2022/23 season. The Dons currently sit in second place on the ladder having been handed their first loss of the season after falling just short of preventing Leschenault from catching their 199 runs. While the Dons started strong with the pairing of Bradman May (49) and UK import Robbie Dawson (77), the side was ultimately overwhelmed by wickets after the first 25 overs. After managing to get a couple of early wickets against Leschenault last weekend, Donnybrook will be hoping to overwhelm Marist with tough bowls and plenty of pressure across the field. Meanwhile, Marist will also be looking to bounce back after they were left stunned when Hay Park upset them 6/203 to 9/202 last weekend. However, Marist remain just outside of the top four in fifth place with a 2-3-1 record. While Marist managed to build up a solid lead, which included a strong showing from Shawn Gillies (77), Hay Park rallied to pull off the upset of the season so far. Elsewhere, Hay Park will be looking to start building a winning streak when they travel up the hill to take on Collie at Roche Park. Leschenault will be keen to extend their undefeated streak to a seventh week when they host Eaton at Leschenault Recreation Ground. Colts will look to continue building momentum when they go head to head with Dalyellup at Dalyellup College.
