Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School primary school students spent last Wednesday weaving strips of fabric onto a fence facing Bussell Highway to make a rainbow.

Inspired by references to the Rainbow Trail on various media channels, primary performing arts specialist Rachel Holmes wanted to create a “happy message for maximum public exposure”.

“I thought the highway oval fence was the perfect place for us to install the rainbow as it gets a lot of exposure,” Mrs Holmes said.

“Drivers were tooting their horns as the rainbow was going up and the children showed great perseverance as they worked their weaving magic.”

Mrs Holmes said the project was also a good opportunity for students of different year groups to collaborate.

The rainbow will be on Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School’s highway oval fence facing Bussell Highway over the holiday break.
