Last week B&J Catalano directors and staff members welcomed the newest edition to the Catalano company, a limited edition Mack truck.

The shiny yellow vehicle parked in the garage at the Catalano farm in Brunswick is one of a few 100th anniversary models and was a significant purchase for the family.

“This year marks the 25th anniversary since Joe Catalano died, so this is a pretty special purchase for the company,” B&J Catalano technical adviser Shaun Treasure said.

“There are only a handful of these trucks in WA which means it will never lose its value. The truck will go to work, punch over one million kilometres and then sit parked in the shed with the other collectable trucks.”

In 1965, B&J Catalano bought their first Mack truck.

Mack sales manager Gerald Cunnold said the special model paid tribute to 100 years of Mack’s legendary trucks in Australia.

“It’s a very unique truck that combines Mack’s heritage design with contemporary styles and innovation,” he said.

“Mack buyers are very passionate people who love their product, so we were glad to hand this one over to B&J Catalano.”
