Winning streaks will be on the line this week as Aces Sky and Bulls Gold get ready to go head to head in an effort to build momentum as the Christmas break looms. Aces Sky are set to go up against Bulls Gold during the ninth round of the Bunbury Senior Basketball League 2022-23 season at the South West Sports Centre on Friday night. In recent weeks, Aces Sky has been finding some strong form and racking up some wins to earn themselves fourth spot on the ladder with a 4-4 record. They pulled off a huge upset in round seven, holding off table toppers Bulls Maroon by five points, and then backed up their efforts with a convincing 100-73 win over Tornadoes Red. Meanwhile, Bulls Gold will be looking for their third win in a row after defeating Eaton Eagles 110-62 last weekend and previously holding off Bulls 108-92 in round seven. They sit in third place on the ladder with a 6-2 record. Last time they met was back in round two, when Bulls Gold held off Aces Sky 91-87 in an action-packed match. Elsewhere, Conquerors will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 140-97 loss to Bulls Maroon when they go up against Bulls. Conquerors sit in fifth place with a 4-4 record, while Bulls are seventh with a 1-7 record. Bulls will be keen to bounce back from their 90-76 loss to Tornadoes Black and start finding form to lift off the bottom of the ladder. Last time they went up against each other, Conquerors lived up to their name and conquered the Bulls 132-82 in round two. Bulls Maroon will continue looking to charge through the competition when they go up against Tornadoes Red after knocking off the Conquerors last week. Tornadoes Red, who suffered a 100-73 loss to Aces Sky last week, will be keen to build some resilience and potentially pull off a huge upset as the race tightens for fourth place. The last time they met, Bulls Maroon defeated Tornadoes Red 89-71. Tornadoes Black will also be looking to come for Bulls Maroon’s throne when they face off against Eaton Eagles. Tornadoes Black sit in second place with a 6-2 record and pulled off a 90-76 win over Bulls last weekend. Eaton Eagles will be looking to keep up and try once again to put a win to their name. Last time they met, Tornadoes Black dominated Eaton Eagles 120-52 in round two.
