The Bunbury Senior Basketball League’s Women’s competition is set to feature plenty of high stakes matches this Friday night with two derbies taking place.

Aces Navy will be returning from their weekly bye to take on Aces Sky at the South West Sports Centre, while Tornadoes Red and Tornadoes Black will go head-to-head.

In the second derby double-header for the season, there will be plenty to play for in both match-ups.

For Aces Navy, who sit in third place on the ladder with a 2-3 record, Friday’s match will provide an opportunity to bounce back from falling short to Tornadoes Black 57-49 last fortnight.

However, they will have a tough challenge ahead of them in Aces Sky, who continue to rule the competition after extending their undefeated streak to a seventh week after defeating Tornadoes Red 65-49 last week.

With Aces Navy well rested and Aces Sky putting in an dominant effort for the season so far, the match-up is set to be an exciting one.

Last time the two sides met in round three, Aces Sky prevailled over Aces Navy in a close contest 61-57.

Meanwhile, Tornadoes Black will be looking to continue building up a winning streak after pulling off a convincing 91-45 win over Eaton Eagles last week.

Tornadoes Black currently sit in fourth place on the ladder with a 2-4 record and will be keen on maintaining their strong form.

Tornadoes Red are in second place with a 4-2 record and will aim to bounce back from their loss to Aces Sky.

Last time they met, Tornadoes Red defeated Tornadoes Black 69-48.

Eaton Eagles will have the weekly bye.
