Bunbury will play host to the South West Home Builders Expo this weekend, with stallholders and future home builders from across the State set to flock to the Hotel Lord Forrest on Saturday.

More than 100 ready-made house and land packages will be available at the event, designed for current and prospective home builders.

Builderz WA sales manager Cullum Ashton said more than 500 people were expected through the doors on the day to browse a range of stalls.

“We have 36 stallholders and they are in lending or mortgage broking, land agency, development or residential building,” he said.

“The reason we chose Bunbury is because the City of Bunbury gave their support and a grant for us to run the expo in the city.

“If it is successful it will run each year.”

The event runs between 10am and 3pm and will give visitors a chance to talk to experts and learn.

“People can learn about their borrowing power from either P&N Bank or the mortgage brokers, they will be able to find land available all around the South West, understand different floor plans, specifications, inclusions and prices from builders as well as how to upgrade through the suppliers and lock in supplier prices,” Mr Ashton said.

“We would love to see first home builders, second home builders and those from the city who are planning on coming down to build themselves a new home.

“That might even be a holiday home or an investment home they might like to Airbnb out.

“So we’re looking forward to seeing locals and visitors.

“There will be 100 plus house and land packages ready to go.”

Mr Ashton said the event was open to all, even the kids, with plenty of activities for them as well.

“We also have a free kids’ zone with free face painting and we have 250 showbags to give away to the first 250 people through the doors,” he said.

“We are very thankful to the City of Bunbury, Builderz WA, Satterley and Business Events Perth.”
