Bunbury gallery in flower
The Bunbury Regional Art Gallery was in full bloom over the weekend for the annual Blooming Arts Festival.
Organised by the Flower Designers Club of Bunbury, this year marked the 21st anniversary of the exhibition in its current format at BRAG.
Event organiser Eileen Wenn said the club was unsure they would be holding the four-day exhibit, which typically attracts hundreds of people each year.
“We had to wait to hear whether the restrictions would be eased in time which was a bit of a worry at first,” she said.
“But we are so glad to see it go ahead.
“This exhibition is so well-known in the South West and the Gallery get the biggest crowd through in just a few days than any other exhibition.”
While there was no particular theme for the event, Ms Wenn said guests were invited and encouraged to use the decorated art frames as a photo booth.
“Our anthuriums have come from Mauritius and the grass has come from Queensland and a lot of hours were spent putting it together,” she said.
“We are always blown away with the work the artists submit and this year we were fortunate enough to display works from 48 artists from around Perth and the South West.”
The next exhibition BRAG will stage is Iluka Visons 2020, which gets under way this weekend.
