Dalyellup families are invited to grab a picnic rug and celebrate Easter safely on their front lawns on Sunday.

The Easter Bunny, who was given a special “eggs-emption” from the hard border closures last week by Premier Mark McGowan, will be visiting the suburb between midday and 5pm on Sunday.

The Isolation Easter Bunny in a Ute event was created by Danita Bartlett, who was worried children may miss out on seeing the bunny as a result of self-isolation measures.

“It breaks my heart that people who would normally spend Easter with 20 or 30 people like we did are stuck at home with their kids and can’t see their family,” Ms Bartlett said.

“Within the isolation boundaries, it would be perfect for the Easter Bunny, who is not touching anyone and is already in PPE, to cruise past in a ute and throw eggs on the lawn and really delight some kids.

“This will also give the parents a break from trying to entertain the kids and keep them happy.

The event has become so popular that the Easter Bunny is also paying a visit to Capel and Yarloop for similar events.

Families wanting to get involved can like the event page on Facebook for route updates throughout the afternoon.

Woolworths Dalyellup has donated eggs for the event and organisers are still seeking donations from the public via the Facebook page.
