Girl struck by car in Australind in intensive care

A 7-year-old girl and her mother have been struck by a car in a serious crash in Australind.

The incident occurred yesterday on the corner of Old Coast Road and Paris Road in the heart of town.

A woman in her 80s was driving a brown station wagon when she struck the pedestrians in the shopping centre carpark.

The 7-year-old girl and her 33-year-old mother were then pinned against other vehicles.

The girl was taken to Bunbury Regional Hospital before being flown to Perth’s Children’s Hospital to be admitted into the intensive care unit.
