The team from Bakers Delight Bunbury Forum are dusting off their bunny suits and gearing up to hop around town and deliver some Easter treats this weekend.

In an effort to bring a smile to the Bunbury carers, nurses and doctors, bakery owners Katrina and Martin Targett will be delivering more than hot cross buns to staff at Bunbury Hospital, Opal Gardens Nursing Home and Woodstock West Retirement Village.

“Seeing how our community has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic my husband and I thought, what can we do to help make somebody’s life that little bit happier with a small gesture,” Mrs Targett said.

“Recently my husband had to go into Bunbury Hospital for a foot operation and we were impressed with how they handled everything and wanted to give back to the staff who work tirelessly for us.

“To do what they do every single day with all of these restrictions just shows how amazing they are.”

While it will be business as usual at the shop, Mrs Targett and her delivery team will spend their weekend dropping off hot cross buns to workers around Bunbury.

“It’s going to be a big, tough weekend with all of these restrictions in place and we want these workers to be able to sit down and enjoy a treat on us with a cup of tea,” she said.

“We started home delivery this week and will continue to do so even after the Easter break, our main priority is to help feed the community and we don’t want anyone to miss out.”
