A small business in Harvey will shut its doors this week after half a decade of trading.

Variety and value store Hoolee Dooleez is preparing to close due to a downturn in business and a change in customer buying habits.

Store owner Liz Oliver said she was sad having to shut up shop but grateful for the opportunity.

“The residents have been great supporters of the business over the years,” Mrs Oliver said. “I really like small towns and Harvey is a lovely community.”

Mrs Oliver and her husband Bruce also own the Busselton Hoolee Dooleez store which will remain open.

The pair closed their Bunbury store in October after 12 years of trading.

“As one door closes another one opens,” a resilient Mrs Oliver said.

The Hayward Street store opened six days a week.
