Members of the Bunbury community have been invited to attend the council chambers next week for the adoption of the annual budget. The City of Bunbury invited all members of the community to attend the special council meeting to adopt the 2022-23 annual budget on July 26, at 6:30 pm at its council chambers. Mayor Jaysen Miguel said the budget was an important part of the Bunbury council’s responsibilities. “The City of Bunbury Annual Budget impacts our entire community so it’s reasonable to assume everyone would be interested in its adoption,” he said. “We invite anyone who might be interested to attend the special council meeting. “Adoption of the annual budget is an important part of Bunbury City Council’s responsibilities. “If community members cannot make the special council meeting, the City will of course be communicating the 2022/23 annual budget details and information through its channels.” On August 5, the City and the Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host an Annual Budget Breakfast which will outline the City’s key income and expenditure along with a summary of major projects planned for the year ahead. The budget will be presented by Mayor Miguel and City of Bunbury chief executive Mal Osborne. The City said its new strategic community plan, its involvement in the better approvals program for small businesses and funding requirements included in the City’s four-year corporate business plan will also feature.
