Muja father Wayne Chappell shot with ‘night shift gun’

A Bunbury court has been told how a Muja father was fatally shot with a “night shift gun” which was kept under a bed when his partner was home alone.
Debra Jane Alicia Holmes, then 53, is standing trial in the Bunbury Supreme Court over the alleged July, 2018 murder of her 56-year-old partner Wayne Chappell, who was this week described by his family as a “hard working” and “likeable” person.
Mr Chappell, who worked as a boilermaker at Griffin Coal, was found dead on the couple’s hobby farm in Muja, near Collie.
