The Wokalup Tavern was in the spotlight last week as it kicked off a nationwide pub crawl.

In an effort to help struggling pub owners around Australia, Carlton & United Breweries launched a pub crawl, aiming to raise $2 million.

Wokalup Tavern owner, Megan Harwick, said the initiative highlighted the importance of staying connected during this difficult time.

“To me ‘community’ is a strong word that builds connections between people that may not necessarily know each other, but having a place to be local,” she said.

“The Pub Reopening Ceremony is such a fantastic opportunity to put the tiny community of Wokalup on the map and we are grateful to be a part of it.”

CUB CEO, Peter Filipovic said he was thrilled to see pubs across the country re-open.

“What better way to celebrate this than with an official re-opening ceremony and a national pub crawl,” he said.

“We hope this campaign shines a spotlight on the brilliant pubs across the country and encourages Australians to head back to their local and support the pubs that are at the heart of their communities.”

Wokalup was the 13th stop on the national tour, which will be coming to an end next week in South Australia.
