State Government commits $360,000 to six Noongar Regional Corporations

Six Noongar Regional Corporations in the South West have received funding from the State Government. Grants totalling $360,000 will be shared between the corporations to enable them to bolster their business and leadership development. Regional Development Minister Don Punch said the grants would help the corporations develop their knowledge and skills base. “This great initiative will lay sound foundations to pursue business opportunities and employment pathways that build a strong future for Noongar people,” he said. “These grants will assist the Noongar Regional Corporations to develop knowledge, skills and self-determination through economic planning and development.” Aboriginal Affairs Minister Tony Buti said the Government was “committed to supporting economic prosperity for Aboriginal communities”. “These grants will help to do this by strengthening businesses and providing employment opportunities for Aboriginal people,” he said.
