The Eaton Boomers must win against Carey Park on Saturday to keep their finals hopes alive for 2022.

The Boomers head into their clash with the Panthers in seventh place on the ladder and six points behind fifth-placed Donnybrook.

Eaton face Busselton and Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault in their two remaining matches after the weekend and will require results to go their way to get a crack at finals football.

Meanwhile, Carey Park are just four points behind the Boomers and still a mathematical chance of making their own finals dreams come true.

The Panthers play the three sides above them in their remaining matches — Eaton, Donnybrook and Harvey — and could see themselves land in the top five if they win every match.

Eaton went down to Bunbury at the weekend by 47 points, but had their chances to beat the third-placed Bulldogs after trailing by just 14 points during the fourth term.

The Boomers also had a chance the two games previous to their final-quarter capitulation against Bunbury, going down to ladder-leaders South Bunbury by four points and drawing with the bottom-placed Collie Eagles.

Carey Park were able to hold of HBL in their match on Saturday, beating the Lions by five points despite not kicking a goal after quarter time.

Bouncedown will be at 3pm at Glen Huon Reserve on Saturday.
