SWFL transfers: Former AFL star Lewis Jetta cleared to Donnybrook

Former AFL star Lewis Jetta is one of five members of his famous football family that have been cleared to South West Football League side Donnybrook. The 34-year-old has joined the Dons alongside brothers Graham — who played 122 WAFL games for Swan Districts — and Brandon, and family members Rodney and Clement, who all played with High Wycombe in the Perth Football League last year. Lewis played 202 AFL games across an 11-year career with Sydney and West Coast, winning one premiership with the Swans in 2012 and another with the Eagles in 2018. Elsewhere in the league, Busselton will be defending their premiership without two critical players, with Jaxon East and Zac Pethybridge joining Myrtleford in Victoria’s Ovens & Murray Football League. Goal-kicking midfielder East was the Magpies’ best player in their thrilling grand final win last year, while key defender Pethybridge has represented the WA Country side. The pair spent part of the summer playing with Wanderers in the Northern Territory Football League. Harley Bennell’s transfer from Harvey to Eaton has been officially ticked off. Bennell, who played 88 AFL games across a 10-year career with Gold Coast, Fremantle and Melbourne, has joined the Boomers after two years with the Bulls, interspersed between brief spells with Port Melbourne in the VFL and Tiwi Bombers in the NTFL. Bunbury premiership player Kyle Watts has been cleared to Dunsborough.
