Hard waste collection begun throughout Bunbury with the first set of residents allowed to stack their front verge with hard waste. The second round of the City of Bunbury hard waste collection includes South Bunbury, Usher and Withers, before green waste which is set to begin on March 28. Items that are approved for collection include whitegoods, furniture, barbecues, treated timber, carpets, e-waste and major appliances, including televisions, domestic stoves, dishwashers and air-conditioners. The City will not collect building materials, paint, oils and batteries, tyres, gas bottles, pallets and general household waste. Hard waste piles must be within 3 cubic metres, with no items longer than 1.5m. Piles should be one metre back from the kerb with care not to obstruct footpaths. Hard Waste Collection Area B, including Bunbury, East Bunbury and Pelican Point, runs from March 14, with green waste collection on April 4. Area C which includes Carey Park, College Grove,Glen Iris and Vittoria Heights begins on March 21 with green waste on April 11. Residents are reminded not to place hard or green waste our more than two weeks before collection dates because infringements of $200 may apply to waste left outside these dates.
