Vikramjit Singh: Former Colts Cricket Club import continues bright start to One Day International career

Teenage prodigy and former Colts Cricket Club import Vikramjit Singh has continued his bright start to his One Day International career after an impressive three game series for the Netherlands against Pakistan. Singh — who featured for the club during the 2019-20 season — added two half-centuries to his tally against the world number four side, with scores of 65 and 50 in the first and third match of the series. Opening the betting in each match, Singh went head-to-head with former Melbourne Stars quick Haris Rauf and teen speedster Naseem Shah. At just 19 years old, Singh has made an impressive start to his ODI career and averages over 30 with the bat from his 12 starts for the national side. The Netherlands ultimately lost the series 3-0 and the former Colts player is yet to win a game with the team in his 15-game international career — which includes three T20 matches. Singh is set to return to Australian soil in October with the Netherlands as part of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The Netherlands will play the United Arab Emirates, Namibia and Sri Lanka in Geelong as they attempt to fill one of the four remaining spots at the 12-team competition, which begins on October 22. Singh made his international debut for the Netherlands in a T20I match against Ireland in 2019, aged 17. In his single season in the Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association he topped Colts’ run-scoring charts with 308 runs at 25.67 and took 16 wickets.
