Witnesses sought on crash fatality
Police have released the identity of a man who died in a crash in Wagerup yesterday.
Binningup man Derek Littleton, 48, was confirmed as the driver of a silver Toyota Echo involved in the crash.
Mr Littleton died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
Major Crash investigators have asked witnesses to come forward as they continue their investigations.
The crash occurred about 6.30am at the junction of South Western Highway and Willowdale Road.
The silver Toyota was attempting to turn right from the highway into Willowdale Road when the vehicle was struck by a grey Mazda BT50 travelling along the highway.
The 17-year-old male driver of the Mazda received minor injuries.
Mr Littleton was trapped for short period of time and a police spokesman confirmed he was unable to be saved by emergency crews.
The crash forced the closure of South Western Highway for about eight hours in both directions from Yarloop to Waroona.
Initial reports indicated three vehicles had been involved, but investigators were able to establish only two vehicles had been affected.
Major Crash investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash, or either vehicle prior to the crash, particularly anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam vision.
