Abandoned days old baby found with rock in mouth and lips glued shut in India’s Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district

WARNING: DISTRESSING IMAGE
A baby has been discovered abandoned with a rock in its mouth and its lips glued shut in a shocking case of child abuse.
Just 15 days old, the newborn was found by a local cattle herder in woodland near the Sita Ka Kund temple in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district.
The distressing moment the infant was rescued was caught on camera.
Miraculously, the baby survived, and police have now launched a search for his parents.

Police said when he was found the child was “writhing” near a pile of rocks with a stone in his mouth and lips sealed shut with adhesive, news agency PTI reported.
Rocks were also reportedly found on his thighs.
It is believed the child’s mouth was glued shut to muffle its cries after being left to die.
The herder managed to unseal the baby’s lips and remove the rock before alerting other locals who rushed the infant to Bijolia Government Hospital.
“The baby is about 15 to 20 days old and is under treatment,“ police said.
Doctors reportedly found adhesive marks on the child’s mouth and thigh.
Police have launched a search for the boy’s parents, trawling through birth records from nearby hospitals and interviewing locals.
Sadly, the case is not unique, with a number of other babies left for dead in India in recent months.
In September, a five month old baby girl was found by a taxi driver lying in bushes in an industrial area in Chandigarah.
The taxi driver had stopped nearby and heard the baby’s cries.
Another baby was found abandoned on the same day, according to the Hindustan Times.
This infant was discovered in a drain in Jharkhand’s Jamtara district. It’s understood the baby’s hands were fractured.
