Perth traffic: Kwinana Freeway closed northbound from Thomas Road after crash in which car catches fire

The crash on Kwinana Freeway that resulted in a vehicle catching fire has been cleared and the artery reopened.

The dramatic incident took place this morning northbound at Thomas Road, with flames spewing from the vehicle and thick black smoke rising into the air.

The freeway was initially closed before reopening as a single lane.

It has since been cleared and is fully operational but traffic remains heavy on approach.
