A man has died in a horror early morning crash after ploughing into a tree in Perth’s south.

Police say a white Toyota Hilux utility was driving on Ennis Avenue, in Warnbro, when it left the road and smashed into a tree near the Safety Bay Road intersection about 5.10am on Friday.

The driver and sole occupant — a man believed to be in his 50s — suffered life-threatening injuries and died at the scene.

Parts of Ennis Avenue, between Safety Bay Road and Royal Palm Drive, were closed on Friday morning but reopened about 11am.

Major crash investigators are urging anyone who saw the crash, or the Toyota Hilux utility travelling in the area prior to the crash, to contact Crime Stoppers online or call 1800 333 000.

Anyone with dash-cam or mobile phone vision relating to the crash can upload vision directly to investigators via this link.
