And the answer (perhaps surprisingly) is, yes. There’s no limit to how much liquid, aerosol or gel you can carry on board. The 100ml-per-container rule only applies to international flights. Australian Border Force confirms that you can carry alcohol on a domestic flight, though it must be in unopened containers. You can carry cans of beer in your carry-on or checked baggage on domestic flights within Australia — as there are no liquid limits for domestic-only travel.

BUT there is a “but”. You are not allowed to drink alcohol you have brought onto a domestic flight. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA is the government body responsible for regulating civil aviation safety in Australia) confirms that you may only drink alcoholic drinks provided and served by the airline’s cabin crew.
