Perth haze: Residents wake to smoke blanketing much of metropolitan area after prescribed burns

Metropolitan residents have woken to a smoke haze blanketing much of Perth.
It follows prescribed burns by the Parks And Wildlife Service north-east of Jarrahdale and south-west of Gingin.
A smoke alert was issued on Friday for a number of areas including Armadale, Byford, Roleystone, Serptentine-Jarrahdale, Wugong and Bedfordale.
Another was issued for the areas of Gingin and Bindoon.
On Saturday, residents across Perth woke to a think haze of smoke hanging in the air.

Little to no wind combined with cold, early morning air has meant the smoke has settled in low lying areas.
It is expected to clear through the morning.
