He made an ostentatious display of firing this powerful assault rifle during a tour of key weapons factories.

And foreign powers will now be wondering who Kim Jong Un could take aim at next.

The despot visited several factories producing artillery systems and launch vehicles for nuclear-capable ballistic missiles.

Wearing a light summer suit and baker boy cap, Kim promised to accelerate efforts to ready North Korea for war, state media reported yesterday.

Experts believe Kim’s latest tour could be related to possible military co-operation with Moscow, involving the nation sending artillery and other ammunition to Russia.

Just last month Kim was joined in Pyongyang by Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu at a huge military parade as Vladimir Putin casts around for support of his invasion in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the United States and South Korea are preparing for their next round of combined military exercises later this month to counter the growing North Korean threat.
