High-flying Swans turn attention to Giants clash

Sydney superstar Isaac Heeney knows Greater Western Sydney are coming for their ladder-leading arch-rival.

But Heeney doesn't have any plans of letting the Giants bring Sydney undone.

Fresh off a comfortable win over Gold Coast, the Swans will resume hostilities with GWS, who beat Richmond on Sunday, at the SCG on Friday night.

"Obviously they're another very good side and it's always a tough match against them," Heeney told AAP.

"So we'll be expecting a physical one and they'll be obviously probably wound up knowing that we've had two really good wins.

"So we'll make sure we've got to hit them between the eyes early and not take any liberties."

Heeney is pivotal to Sydney's fortunes and is coming off a star turn in Saturday's 32-point win over Gold Coast.

The 29-year-old finished with two goals and 12 score involvements, along with 33 disposals, 538 metres gained, 10 clearances, 11 tackles and 18 contested possessions.

Heeney also has high expectations of himself.

"I want to try and execute every facet of the game and not just be stuck to either an inside or an outside player," Heeney said.

"And if I can go forward and hit the scoreboard - I think that's where my game has the most effect."

Livewire Tom Papley kicked three goals against the Suns and is starting to return to his devastating best after a 2025 ravaged by injury.

"He's a real energiser bunny for us," Heeney said.

"He uses the ball really well. He's got extremely good experience and he hits hard.

"So you love to have him and Malcolm Rosas in the forward line just terrorising the opposition and they can both hit the scoreboard and they can both kick two or three.

"It's a pretty amazing side we've got at the moment."

The Swans missed the finals last year in their first season under Dean Cox.

But with fresh recruits providing a spark and impressive wins over Brisbane and Gold Coast, there is belief internally they are capable of a special season.

"We've got a lot of confidence in our game plan and the players we've got," Heeney said.

"We've got Malcolm Rosas in the forward line that's come in, we've got Jai Serong on the wing, back - he can go anywhere. He's a really good size, a good body and unbelievably hard worker.

"Charlie (Curnow) as well up forward. His contest has been absolutely incredible.

"So the people we've brought in, the players we've got in there, the game plan we've got is in pretty good stead at the moment so it's exciting."
