In-form Australian centre Jock Landale has joined a fifth NBA team in as many seasons, arriving at the Utah Jazz as part of a blockbuster trade with the Memphis Grizzlies.

It comes as former NBA MVP James Harden prepares to move from the Los Angeles Clippers to Cleveland in a trade for Darius Garland that was finalised before Friday's deadline (AEDT).

The Clippers will also receive a future second-round pick in the exchange of 2025 All-Star guards.

Garland has been sidelined since mid-January with a toe injury, while 36-year-old Harden is averaging 25.4 points and 8.1 assists in his 17th NBA season.

Landale is one of four Memphis players, including centre Jaren Jackson Jr, sent to the Jazz in exchange for three future first-round draft picks and Taylor Hendricks, Kyle Anderson, Walter Clayton and Georges Niang.

No member of that new Grizzlies quartet has averaged double digits for points this season, with Niang yet to play at all due to a foot injury.

John Konchar and Vince Williams also join Landale and two-time NBA All-Star Jackson in making the move to Utah.

The trade comes amid a career-best season from Landale, who is set to compete with former defensive player of the year Jackson and Jusuf Nurkic for opportunities in the five-man spot.

Former first-round draft pick Walker Kessler remains sidelined with a season-ending shoulder injury but is another leading centre option in Utah when fit.

Almost exclusively a role player in his four previous NBA seasons, Landale has started 11 of his last 13 games and put up four double-doubles in that time.

He made his final Grizzlies appearance in a 137-128 defeat of Minnesota on Tuesday (AEDT) and averaged 11.3 points and 6.5 rebounds across 45 games for the club.

The 30-year-old's move follows stints at the San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets.

The depleted Jazz snapped a six-game losing streak on Wednesday (AEDT), using just seven players in their 131-122 defeat of Indiana.

Star player Lauri Markkanan had 27 points for the Jazz, who acquired Landale and his Memphis teammates only hours before tip-off.

Australian Johnny Furphy managed 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists starting for the Pacers.

Elsewhere, Dyson Daniels' Atlanta scored a 127-115 defeat of the Miami Heat but the Aussie's Hawks teammate Jalen Johnson was the star of the show.

Johnson (29 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists) had his ninth triple-double of the season as Daniels contributed five assists and just two points, landing one of four field-goal attempts.

Australian guard Josh Giddey missed a fourth consecutive game with his hamstring injury as Chicago suffered a 131-115 loss to Milwaukee.
