Bledisloe Cup: Traffic warning for East Perth ahead of Wallabies’ clash with All Blacks at Optus Stadium

Bledisloe Cup. The two words that are guaranteed to stir strong emotions on both sides of the Tasman Sea at the drop of a hat.
And come 5.45pm on Saturday, Optus Stadium will witness the full passions which come with one of sport’s greatest and most storied rivalries as Perth hosts the Wallabies’ clash with New Zealand.
A sea of green, gold and all black will descend upon the Burswood peninsula for the sold-out showdown as Australia target a first win in five years against their bitter rivals.
Main Roads warned the public to be mindful of heavy foot traffic and frequently stopping vehicles in ride share drop offs on Sailani Avenue in East Perth.
Fans were also encouraged to catch public transport as travel is included with tickets.
The All Blacks’ status as one of the most recognisable national sporting teams has been preserved over time, and there will be plenty of Perth’s vast New Zealand population in the crowd to cheer on their heroes.

Australia have not beaten the All Blacks since 2020, a record-equalling run of 10-straight games — but Perth looms as their best chance to end the streak after a series of consistent, impressive performances.
There will be extra motivation for the Wallabies with stalwart James Slipper — who holds the Australian record for games with 150 — set to retire after the game.
Slipper, who started his Wallabies career in Perth against England in 2010, has played the third-most international matches of any rugby union player.
Gates open at 4pm with kick off at 5.45pm.
