Fremantle coach Lisa Webb has denied they rushed forward Aine Tighe back after the star Docker sustained yet another injury setback in the upset win over Melbourne.

Tighe finished the game on Sunday on the bench with knee soreness in her return from an ACL injury, which kept her out for more than a year.

Webb declared the Irish spearhead was 100 per cent ready to go against the Demons.

“She’s been tracking really well, and it’s always to do with medical…. so medical and Aine got together, and she’s been tracking really well,” Webb said.

“She got a little bit sick, and when she progressed from that quicker than probably, we anticipated, and when she was available for selection, I certainly didn’t say no.

“So that was a great thing for her to be able to get back from the significant injuries… Otherwise, we wouldn’t have put her out there.”

Fremantle are yet to reveal the extent of her latest setback as the club wait for more information but initial fears are the 33-year-old won’t feature again this season.

“There’s some involvement there with that ACL, so we need to have a look at that in greater depth and hopefully the news is on the better end for us,” she said.

“We will see we’re obviously really hoping that everything’s okay, as I said, she’s a terrific person, and we’ll just wait for it when we get the news.”

The Dockers remain outside the top eight with three rounds to go, with a crucial victory required against bottom-four side Greater Western Sydney before taking on Richmond (17th) and Adelaide (fifth).

But Webb says they are looking no further than the challenge at hand this weekend.

“We need to just stay in the GWS game and need to make sure we bring our best.

“They’re a really strong team, I think every team we have come up against has real serious talent and GWS are no different.”

The Dockers are set to celebrate club stalwart Laura Pugh in Saturday’s clash with the Giants. Webb praised the defender’s durability ahead of game 75.

“She’s a terrific person, we often call her the glue and the general down back and she loves that.

“For her durability she doesn’t miss any or games at all I don’t think.”
