Port Adelaide keen to strike on out-of-favour Fremantle midfielder Will Brodie for new coach Josh Carr

Port Adelaide are keen on out-of-favour Fremantle midfielder Will Brodie as they look to bolster their midfield ahead of Josh Carr’s first year at the helm.
Channel 7’s Mitch Cleary is reporting the Power are looking at several potential midfielders, including the 26-year-old Docker, who has one more year left on his contract at the Harbour club.
Brodie has not featured at AFL level since round seven of the 2023 season, having played a full 24 games for Fremantle the year prior when Carr was the midfield coach.
Crossing from the Gold Coast Suns at the end of 2021, Brodie signed a three-year contract extension at the Dockers in March 2023 but has spent the majority of that time in the WAFL.
Brodie was part of the Peel Thunder premiership side in 2024 and has played 11 games this year where he has averaged 26 disposals.
This includes 41 and 35 disposals in the past two weeks for the Dockers WAFL-aligned club. He was named as an emergency for the Dockers’ clash against Carlton at Optus Stadium on Sunday.
It comes as the Dockers also look to retain fellow midfielder Neil Erasmus, who is out of contract at the end of this season.
Erasmus is reportedly attracting interest from several clubs, including West Coast as well as the Western Bulldogs.

The 21-year-old is facing a big finish to this season, having played 11 games for the Dockers in 2025 but faces a task to retain his spot for the looming finals series as former skipper Nat Fyfe nears full fitness.
Erasmus had a stellar 2024 for the Thunder, winning the Tuckey Medal as their fairest and best as well as the Simpson Medal for best on ground in the grand final win over East Perth.
