AFL Draft: West Coast next generation academy prospect Tylah Williams set for a second game for Eagles WAFL

West Coast next generation prospect Tylah Williams is set to line up for his second game in the Eagles’ WAFL side after a promising debut. Williams kicked the opening goal of the game with his first possession in West Coast’s 69-point defeat to East Perth at Sullivan Logistics Stadium on Saturday. The teenager finished with a promising one goal from 12 touches, four inside 50s and three tackles and is now likely take on East Fremantle at The Good Grocer Park this weekend. Williams’ talent caught the eye of ruckman Matt Flynn who played alongside the youngster in tough conditions. “He did some really impressive things,” he told The West Australian. It comes as Perth could hand Williams’ fellow NGA prospect Koby Evans a debut for their crucial clash against Peel Thunder down in Mandurah on Saturday. Evans returned from a back injury to star for the Demons colts side in a win over West Perth, collecting 25 touches and seven tackles. He is unlikely to follow in the footsteps of Williams and play for the Eagles’ reserves side if he is part of Perth’s league plans going forward. The Demons are battling injuries to their small forward stocks with Brodie McLean to miss the rest of the season after he ruptured his ACL last month, opening the door for Evans to come into the team. Eagles father-son prospect Charlie Banfield returned to Scotch College in the PSA competition at the weekend after he made his debut for the Eagles late last month against Peel Thunder. The son of dual premiership Eagle Drew starred in a defeat to Aquinas College with 20 disposals (17 contested) as well as six clearances and four tackles in wet conditions. Meanwhile, top WA draft hopeful Cody Curtin is set to be sidelined for at least another game as he deals with shin splints. Curtin kicked six goals in round 15 against Subiaco but was a late withdrawal for their next game against East Fremantle as he battles the injury late in the season. West Perth are set to welcome back midfielder Sam Swadling who missed the league win over Perth at the weekend with illness, while defender Lochlain Carpenter made his debut. Half-back Jacob Farrow had another strong performance for the Falcons with 17 touches and four tackles as his draft stocks continue to rise. Fremantle next generation academy prospect Toby Whan had one of his best games for the year for South Fremantle with 24 touches, six tackles and four inside 50s.
