VideoA rare piece of footy history will be up for grabs on Thursday.

Oscar Allen is set for one of his final appearances as West Coast co-captain, with the star forward to attend the Brownlow Medal alongside teammates on Monday night.

Allen has already told the Eagles he will be exercising his free agency rights after eight years and 105 games at the club, with the forward set to land at Brisbane on a six-year contract.

The 26-year-old will attend the league’s night of nights at Crown Melbourne alongside fiance Lorna McNabb as well as fellow co-captain Liam Duggan and wife Lauren.

Young star Harley Reid, who recently signed a contract extension with the club, looks to be accompanied by teammate Noah Long, while Clay Hall and Tyrell Dewar will attend as AFL Rising Star nominees.

Reid is expected to poll the most votes for the Eagles in their torrid one-win season, having picked up seven last year to have the equal second-most for the club alongside Jake Waterman and behind Elliot Yeo (eight votes).

Meanwhile, it shapes as a massive night for Fremantle with vice-captain Caleb Serong among the chances to claim this year’s Brownlow Medal.

Serong is the sixth favourite to claim this year’s top award at $41, having finished equal fourth last year with 28 votes, polling in 11 of 23 games including seven best on grounds.

The 24-year-old is averaging a career-high eight clearances as well as 27 disposals, five tackles and six inside 50s in a team that won 16 games as opposed to 12 last year.

Fellow vice-captain Andrew Brayshaw will also attend and is set to poll well, while forward Josh Treacy and ruckman-midfielder Luke Jackson are also attending. Dockers captain Alex Pearce is overseas and will not attend.

First-year Docker Murphy Reid is the raging favourite to win the Ron Evans Medal as the AFL’s Rising Star for 2025, joining the likes of Serong, Paul Hasleby and Rhys Palmer as previous winners from Fremantle.

Reid, 19, has averaged 14 disposals and a goal in all 24 of the Dockers’ games this season, having exploded onto the scene in round one with four goals against Geelong, having been drafted with pick No.17 in 2024.

The Brownlow Medal will be broadcast live and free on Seven and 7Plus, with the red carpet from 5.30pm on 7mate and 7plus.

Premiership hero Isaac Smith will also co-host Blue Carpet Confessionals on 7plus from 3.30pm AWST.
