The golden wattle is the key feature of West Coast’s new Anzac guernsey, with the Eagles unveiling the new design that players will don against St Kilda this weekend.
The solid yellow panels that usually adorn the wings of West Coast’s predominantly blue strip have been fashioned into a series of yellow wattles, in a nod to Australia’s national floral emblem.

The club described the design as “a tribute to service, remembrance and the deep connection between Australians at home and those who served overseas.”
Wattle became a key symbol during World War I, both on the frontline and back home, with sprigs and badges used to raise money for the war effort.
West Coast’s player guernseys will be auctioned after Sunday’s match against the Saints, with profits donated to RSL WA.
It marks the third straight season that the Eagles have worn a specially-designed Anzac strip.

Last year’s match against Hawthorn featured a silhouette of soldiers in front of a setting sun, while 2024’s uniform had poppies on one of the wings of the jumper.
