West Coast Eagles rising star Harley Reid sports new cornrows ahead of pre-season

Rising West Coast star Harley Reid has a new look on the eve of pre-season.
The Eagles return to training this week for first to fourth-year players, and the third-year midfielder is set to sport an aerodynamic look.
In a video posted to Instagram by Swickcuts, Reid has exchanged his free-flowing long blonde locks for tight cornrows, taping off down his neck.
In the video, the 20-year-old can be seen grinning from ear to ear as the new look was completed and the process revealed later in the clip.

It’s a polarising look for one of the game’s burgeoning stars who will be hoping to build on a strong first two seasons in the west after being selected with the No.1 overall draft pick in 2023.
However, it appears to have gone over well with the fans, many posting fire emojis on the video.
The young gun also doesn’t have the pressure of negotiating contracts to worry about heading into 2026 after re-signing with West Coast until the end of 2028.

He and the club confirmed the deal in August with the new contract worth around $2 million per year.
Reid has made 39 appearances for West Coast since debuting at the start of last year, with his 2025 season cut short by a syndesmosis injury suffered in the July western derby.

The midfielder was one of the cellar-dwellers’ best in a one-win campaign, overcoming a slow start to average 19 disposals and four clearances per game while adding 14 goals.

Reid has been a marked man from rival clubs since being drafted to West Coast, with Melbourne clubs reportedly having been willing to offer in excess of $20 million for long-term deals.
The Eagles are also set to be boosted in the coming weeks, holding the top two selections for the national draft on November 19 and 20.
