Western Force scrum-half Issak Fines-Leleiwasa will leave the club and play for Fijian Drua next season

Western Force gun Issak Fines-Leleiwasa will leave the club and is bound for Fiji, where he has family heritage. The West Australian understands Fines-Leleiwasa will be unveiled as a Fijian Drua player as soon as tomorrow, after 54 caps for the Force. Fines-Leleiwasa has family heritage in Fiji and will be eligible to play for the Pacific nation by the end of 2026, three years after he won two Wallabies caps. The 29-year-old and his partner, Renuka, recently welcomed their first child. The popular scrum-half won the club’s Nathan Sharpe Medal in 2019 and was the Member’s MVP in 2023. The New South Wales-born gun played 10 matches for the ACT Brumbies before shifting to the Force. “I just want to thank everyone over the past four seasons, I’ve enjoyed every opportunity I got to represent the Force with a great bunch of men and some of the best and most loyal fans being the Sea of Blue,” Fines-Leleiwasa said. “I’ve made life-long connections both on and off the field, and that’s something I’m truly grateful for.” Fines-Leleiwasa will still be eligible to play for the Force in the Super Rugby AUS competition in September.
