Hurtigruten Expeditions (HX) has launched “all-inclusive” voyages to all destinations across its fleet from November this year.

The Norwegian line’s specialist expeditions arm, rebranded to HX in 2023, is phasing in its new offering from this October on its Antarctica and Galapagos itineraries.

The all-inclusive fares combine Hurtigruten’s long exploring heritage — the line has been sailing expeditions since 1896 — with modern guest experiences that include expert-led daily expeditions and activities such as hikes and community visits, and access to science-led activities on board and out in the wild. The inclusions extend to alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and professional photographs.

The company says it’s part of plans to “craft the ultimate expedition cruise experience”.

HX spokesman Alex Delamere-White says: “We want our guests to fully embrace being curious travellers when they’re with us.

“By making things as easy as possible, they can focus on exploring remote parts of the world and learning from our expert team.

“We believe adventure should be all-inclusive, which is why our daily expeditions, talks and access to the science centre come at no extra cost, alongside delicious food and drink … Our team are focused on strengthening our position as the global leaders in expedition cruising by providing pioneering experiences, unmatched itineraries and great value.”

So, a regular grade cabin now includes daily expeditions, full board dining, wine, beer, spirits and cocktails, wi-fi, gratuities, HX’s interactive science program and science centre, opportunities to engage with and support local communities and environmental initiatives, take home expedition gear, and more.

HX aims to be the world’s most sustainable expedition company and in 2019 launched the world’s first battery hybrid-powered cruise ship.
