One of Tasmania’s most beloved tourist attractions is set for a sweet revival, with Cadbury unveiling plans for its new $150 million chocolate experience, due to open in late 2028.
Located beside the existing factory in Hobart’s north, the attraction will feature immersive exhibits and tours, a chocolate tasting lab, artisan production spaces and a rooftop lounge celebrating Tasmania’s finest produce.

The project — developed by Simon Currant and Associates in partnership with Cadbury — has been 15 years in the making, with Glenorchy City Council’s planning authority giving it the green light in May.
Once complete, the attraction is forecast to welcome 431,000 visitors a year and inject more than $120m annually into the Tasmanian economy.
