Bronwyn Kathleen Clark: Family’s loving tribute to mother and nurse killed in Spencer Park hit-and-run

The family of Bronwyn Clark, who was killed in a tragic hit-and-run incident in Albany on Wednesday night, have said the Albany nurse was loved deeply by both her family and community. Just before 8pm on Wednesday, the 57-year-old healthcare worker was hit by a car on Hardie Road in Spencer Park, suffering critical injuries and could not be saved. Police told reporters on Friday morning the victim was lying on the roadway when she was hit, receiving emergency first aid at the scene before being transported to the nearby Albany Health Campus, where she later died. Police seized the vehicle involved in the incident on Friday afternoon, identified as a dark-coloured, mid-sized SUV sedan. The driver of the car was arrested as a suspect and is continuing to assist police with their investigation. “We are devastated by the sudden and heartbreaking loss of our beautiful mum, Bronny — a truly remarkable woman whose presence lit up every room and every life she touched,” her family wrote in a statement. “Bronny was not only a devoted mother, but a dedicated nurse, a carer, a best friend, and a warm, vibrant soul who brought joy, laughter, and love to all who knew her. “Her quirky sense of humour, infectious smile, and deep compassion made her a pillar of strength in our lives and in the community. “She gave so much of herself to others — both professionally and personally — and her legacy of kindness, warmth, and generosity will live on in the countless people she helped, healed, and inspired. “The community will feel her absence deeply. “The world was a little brighter, a little more special, with mum in it. “She deserved so much more - and so many still needed her.” Investigators’ examination of the scene concluded on Thursday afternoon, with the road re-opened shortly after, however police are still appealing to the public for information or footage of the incident to establish key facts in the case.
