David William Crossley: Drug and child exploitation material charges see 53-year-old remanded in custody

A Great Southern man was in court on a string of charges including distributing child exploitation material, with his defence lawyer making no application for bail at his first appearance. David William Crossley, 53, appeared in Albany Magistrates Court in custody on October 30 charged with six offences including possessing prohibited drugs and paraphernalia, failing to comply with reporting obligations, and possessing and distributing child exploitation material. The offences were allegedly committed between September 8 and October 29 in Albany and Tingledale, a rural area of the Shire of Denmark located between Nornalup and Bow Bridge. Mr Crossley entered no pleas at his first appearance on the charges. Defence counsel Eva Svanberg made no application for bail and Mr Crossley was remanded in custody. Ms Svanberg asked for an adjournment until November 25 for him to receive legal advice, which magistrate Andrew Maughan granted.
