Denmark’s annual Youth Fest takes place on Wednesday with the popular local event set to attract young people from across the shire to activities at the McLean sports precinct.

On the list of exciting things to do are a dunk tank, inflatable darts, a Lego station, lawn games and face painting.

For a treat, there will be an ice-cream truck and for those who would prefer a little quiet time, there will be chill out and sensory zones.

The theme this year is Strength In Our Stories and the aim is to recognise the power in the diverse backgrounds of WA youth.

As well the fun activities, support agencies including headspace, Holyoake, the Denmark Community Resource Centre and the shire’s rangers will be on site to provide education and information to those attending.

Shire councillors will also attend the event’s listening post to hear the thoughts and ideas of young people on the future of their community.

Youth Week WA is a State-wide celebration which encourages young people aged 10-25 to be recognised for the contributions they make to the social, cultural and economic life of the State.

The Denmark event will run from 11am-3pm.

For more information, see the youth services section of the shire council’s website.
