Cops up coastal patrols after pervert complaint
Margaret River Police will increase patrols out towards Surfers Point and the coast after unconfirmed reports this week of a pervert exposing himself to women.
But officer-in-charge Simone Taplin voiced frustration that the alleged Sunday night incident was not reported to police.
“It wasn’t reported to police and the name of the person reporting we cannot find to contact, so it’s a little frustrating,” Sgt Taplin said.
“We are definitely doing patrols in the evening to make sure we keep the community safe.”

READ NOWResident Valerie Vallee said her friend was returning from a walk to the Point when a man on a bicycle, with no description given, was waiting for her on a path and then “exposed himself”.
“She ran to a nearby friend’s house, but was quite shaken,” Ms Vallee said online.
“It makes me angry that women can’t feel safe on their own.”
Sgt Taplin urged anyone with information to contact police and to contact police immediately if any such incident occurred.
