Australind’s The Elbow ‘in the mix’ for ramp upgrades

Popular Australind boating area The Elbow could receive almost $400,000 in upgrades if an application for State Government funding is successful.
Harvey Shire Council has applied for $293,625 in Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme money to build a new boat ramp and floating finger jetty along the Eastwell Road foreshore and would contribute the remaining $97,875.
“It is a good project so it is just a matter of being in the mix, but we have been successful with these applications in the past,” shire president Tania Jackson said.
The multi-part project would involve construction of the finger jetty, including lighting, removal and replacement of the existing boat ramp with a nine-panel concrete ramp, and repair and replacement of viewing platforms along the river.
