A South Bunbury man has been fined for growing three cannabis plants in his backyard for his own personal use. Aaron Le Touche appeared in Bunbury Magistrate’s Court via videolink from Bunbury Regional Prison on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to cultivating a prohibited plant and possessing cannabis seeds, a prohibited drug. The court was told police conducted a search of Le Touche’s home in South Bunbury on February 14, where officers located three cannabis plants in the backyard. Police also found a container that held 3g of cannabis seeds. In a police interview, Le Touche admitted to growing cannabis, telling officers he planted the cannabis six months prior for personal use. Le Touche was fined $400 for the cannabis plants, plus a further $100 for the cannabis seeds and $264.30 in court costs.
